"I Love You"
What does it mean?
Once I thought I knew
But I guess I was wrong.

I used to say "I love you"
All the time
To someone that I thought
Loved me too.

Then one day my heart was broken
By the one person in this world
I trusted the most
And the words "I love you"
Meant nothing at all.

I put up a shield
To protect myself
From those three little words
That hurt me so much.

What it means to say "I love you",
I really don't know;
But maybe someday I can say
Those three little words out loud.
